This playset is filled with detail that will add to your child’s creative play. Some cute touches include the oven’s removable cauldron and secret back door for adding the flaming logs (or naughty children!). The cooking table includes toy pastries such as a cupcake and gingerbread house.
I’m also impressed with the detail on the Ginger Breadhouse doll. She as an apron-like dress that has a gingerbread print on the skirt (perfect for the daughter of Hansel and Gretel’s witch). She’s wearing a little chef’s hat and comes with an oven mit.
These little details and more make me prefer the Sugar Coated Kitchen playset and Ginger Breadhouse doll to the stand-alone Ginger Breadhouse (reviewed here). The stand-alone doll is a better price, which is always a plus. However, the playset more than makes up for the higher cost with so many different play possibilities and clever details.

- Lots of small pieces, so not suitable for anyone under age 3
